BELLY FAT AND VITAMIN D

By: | Tags: | Comments: 0 | May 30th, 2018

There is a link between obesity and lower vitamin D showing that the type and location of fat, especially belly fat, decreases levels of vitamin D. In women, both total and abdominal fat are associated with lower vitamin D levels, but abdominal fat has the greatest impact. In men, however, lower vitamin D is significantly linked with fat in the liver and abdomen.
Vitamin D is good for our immunity system. Individuals with larger waistlines are at a greater risk of developing multiple diseases and of shortening their lifetime. Only produced in our skin on contact with sunlight, food sources of vitamin D may be mackerel, sardines, codfish, herring, all fish oils, milk and egg yolk.
The Food Reeducation and Behavioural program and Body Modelling by Clínica do Tempo®, enables an individualisation of the alimentary regime and weight and fat excess reduction in any part of the body, in a healthy and natural way. So it is possible to fulfil the body’s necessities and to timely prevent different pathologies, of genetic origin or related to lifestyle and life experiences, therefore prolonging longevity.
