Sugar!
In poor quantities, sugar is also part of a healthy nourishment. After all, fruits are sweet, containing fructose.
About quantities we must be specially cautious on refined sugar, that common white sugar used to sweeten coffee and other beverages, and to make pastry, from cakes to cookies.
We must be aware that many ready-to-eat food, fresh or frozen, also contain sugar. All together, may well take us to an exaggerate intake of sugar.
Sugar is highly caloric, leading to an increase on weight, but that's not all. The quantity of sugar in blood circulation augments, taking to high-level glycemic rates overloading the pancreas which has to work harder to produce insulin, the compound that will balance sugar in the blood.
