The research was made by the prestigious Oxford University, when analysing 57 different studies, and was published in the "Lancet" magazine. According to researchers, when weighing a third more than would be ideal for your height, you are shortening your lifetime in 3 years. Weighing a third more means, for the majority, to have about 20 to 30 Kg in excess. Another investigation which involved more than 150 thousand people over ten years, revealed that enlarging 5 cm around the waist determines a 17% larger death risk for men, and 13% for women.
