RED WINE VINEGAR
TIP OF THE DAY of our nutritionist Dr. Tomás Barbosa:
Made by fermenting red wine, then straining it, it’s often aged before bottling to reduce the intensity of the flavour. Many people enjoy using red wine vinegar in recipes. The acetic acid in red wine vinegar may support weight loss. Acetic acid has been shown to reduce fat storage, increase fat burning, and reduce appetite. What’s more, it keeps food in your stomach longer. This delays the release of ghrelin, a hunger hormone, which may prevent overeating.
