Drink water!
How much water should we drink a day has given rise to many opinions. The truth is that our body consists of 70% water and needs to be properly hydrated to fulfill all of its functions correctly.
It is important not to get thirst, because it means that we are already at the stage of dehydration. The ideal quantity depends on our body weight, of our physical activity, of the type of food we eat and of our level of health.
When we are sick or do exercise, we should increase our consumption of water. As a general rule, we should drink a glass of water when we wake up, two glasses in the morning, two glasses during the afternoon and two glasses at night. This makes 7 glasses, which is equivalent to the old theories that suggest the consumption of eight glasses of water a day.
Water is good to lose weight, to give satiety, to avoid eating when not hungry, to keep our organs healthy (heart, kidneys, lungs, liver, but also skin, eyes and intestines) to balance the energy levels (we feel tired if we are dehydrated, it is way for the body to defend himself), to keep a good digestive system, to clean the body and even to prevent headaches.
Incredible as it may seem, the simple water was associated with a decrease of 45% in the risk of colon cancer, 50% in bladder cancer and good potential to decrease the risk of breast cancer.
Remember to drink water regularly.
